sms and other symbols are degrading/changing our written culture inside a visual one. There's a need to speak and interact about. Thanks.
We always say how people and culture are the biggest moving parts in the success (or failure) of KM, and that KM is "about people not tech", so what part does job-focused psychology play in KM?
Dear members, i have some questions regarding KM models and practices. I'm developing an Msc Thesis about KM practices. I've studied and written about the SECI model, KM mechanisms (like brainstorming, learning by doing, etc.) and KM technologies (portals, groupware, BI, workflow, help desk, etc.). Now, as SECI model only supports the KM creation step, i have to change it and present more one or two models that, in someway, include all the steps from the KM cycle (for example: capture and creation, sharing and dissemination, acquisition and application) and then choose one to replace SECI. I would prefer, as i've written about the SECI model and its relations with mechanisms and technologies, to choose one model that complements/works with it. I am reading some books, thesis, articles and sites about KM Models with these questions in mind, and i would like to ask: 1) Which are the KM models that regards all the KM cycle steps? 2) By any chance, is there any model that complements/works with Nonaka's SECI model? 3) That in its definition, clearly states a lot of KM practices. Or that, at least, can be easily related with them? Kind Regards
More & more SMEs these days are using many productivity and business information management web tools but not many of them are taking advantage of "Knowledge sharing" and end-up reinvesting their valuable time in creating similar content. There are not many options available to them except Wikis, Web based Document Management tools etc, where information is mostly a static repository and they are unable to find the content which can help them save time, be more productive & grow revenues.
There are many functions in the creation process of movies or music where KM could be powerful. Best practices in production management, in music supervision, in production design, and obviously in location management. So many areas where the experience of others could save money for others. The idea of sharing knowledge for all independent movie makers is maybe utopia in the current context of media corporations but at least, in each studio!!! I look for professionals in that business (movie, music, arts) to share their experience and challenge the idea.
