Starting a KM programme

I need to think so carefully about advice to give a corporate about starting a KM programme - one thing's for sure - you need to weave KM processes into current critical ones they use..........still thinking. Can't force KM, must adopt its own monentum & must be driven and the logic understood. Must market KM consciously & be very patient.

My book, Implementing a successful KM programme, addresses this (http://www.ark-group.com/home/xq/asp/pubid.B7384A92-6C72-430A-8E0D-F4455... ). Some of the content is available online (http://stangarfield.googlepages.com/ ) - May07 Masterclass: Identifying KM objectives, Apr07 Masterclass: Obtaining support for KM - The ten commitments, Feb06 Setting Up a KM Program

I didn't post the "starting a KM programme" message, but thanks KerrieAnne for your suggestion to whoever did post it!

Sorry about that. This message was posted as a chat event last Sunday. Since "chat events" are only for archiving actual chat events, we moved it to the "topic suggestions". However, we did not change the name of the author though. If the one who did could ping us, we'll change the name to the actual author. Untill that time, we'll change it to 'Anonymous'.

We have chosen for a very open format on this platform in which anybody can post and members can change almost all content on the plaform. The site's moderators will actively make sure that everything is at the right place (by the way: we are looking for other volunteers that would be willing to help out moderating). We might want to change this approach a little towards a more role/priviliges approach if more of such incidents occur.

suggest : KM program aligns with business objectives metrics to show benefits are hard - however annecdotal stories of benefits help to convince corporates of benefits basically we can't document everything in reports, policies and procedures - so KM programme helps to share the things in folks heads
