Do we need Social Governance?
Related Chat Event:
Social technologies can have a positive impact in helping to create a more socially connected organisation whilst increasing collaborative working. However, as more and more social technologies are made available, along comes the confusion of choice. Bearing in mind that in any organisation you are going to varying levels of social adoption (technology and right mindset), what would the advantages and disadvantages be of implementing a Social Governance Model?

I hadn't realised my topic had been scheduled.
What I was looking for with this topic was to crowd-source whether implementing social governance impacts creativity and progress of our social technologies.
The more social technologies you have the more confusing it can be to the user but it does create competition between rival products which leads to innovation.
The fewer the social technologies in an organisation then it becomes easier to integrate these new technologies as part of everyday working methods, but without the competition of rival products development can be slow. This can result in stagnant progress of best practices.
@plantpixie - would appreciate it if you would take these points into consideration when moderating...cheers.
Will do.
Hello, I'm not seeing this great topic in the archives list. Was it discussed? If not, I'd like to take it on for Sept. 21st.
Would love to.
Would you be willing to moderate a session on this topic somewhere in the summer? Thanks!
