Our first pilot chat will be on the best ideas from KM World 2009. KMers.org is present there at the booth of the KM Institute. For those that were there, we would love to hear your new insights, ideas, eye-openers and exiting new developments. And for those that weren't there: you'll be able to ask participants for more explanation and at the same time you'll get a summary on the different topics that were elaborated during the conference.

NB: The timezone is: 12pm-1pm EST; 5-6pm GMT

  • 5mins - Introductions, Did you attend KMW09?, what experience do you have with Twitter Chats?
  • 5mins - Are there any questions about the KMers.org site?
  • 10mins - What was your goal going into the conference?
  • 10mins - What was your favorite session from the conference and why?
  • 10mins - What are your key takeaways? Did they match your goals?
  • 10mins - How would you like to see the conference changed for next year?
  • 5mins - What topics would you like to see on future KMers chats?
  • 5mins - How can other KMers help you? Go ahead and pitch something
Chat Summary

Introductions:
- we discovered that most of the chatters had not been to KMWorld09 and many were new to Twitter Chatting

Thoughts about KMers.org
- @Elsua: Should link in a Twitter List that contains all the members
- @lehawes: pointed out that archiving of chats will be a plus
- several indicated that KMers.org login and TweetChat login (double) was confusing
- @andreamayer pointed out that we had a glitch with a post being wrongly attributed
- There were a few other small problems encountered by a few people during the chat

Goals for #KMW09
- @swanwick indicated he was there 1) to network 2) to launch KMers.org
- @StanGarfield said he was there to speak, serve on a panel, learn, and interact
- Tone of session: @swanwick indicated that it seemed hopeful. Hopeful that e2.0 would be the opp for KM and SM to work together.

- value of life-narration: balance between inane tweets and over polished ones.
- value of and how to measure KM value
- video as a knowledge sharing channel

- the consensus was that @BillIves provided the best blogging coverage of the event

Ways to improve KMWorld
- @VMaryAbraham felt it was too expensive
- Several wished there was an online attendance package available for those who can't travel

Thank you for your comment. We were planning to make that more clear, but other issues on this site came first. The time  is 12pm-1pm EST. This means 5pm-6pm GMT Greenwich time. We have a poll indicating different time slots, you can submit your favorite time there. We are investigating the possibility to have two time slots to organize the chat in order to serve the whole world.
