Past and Future of KMers.org
#KMers began as an idea by Robert Swanwick to give the members of the Knowledge Management Institute's network another way to collaborate. After early reflection, it became obvious that
- The community would be valuable beyond KMI for the entire population of KM professionals
- It was going to be quite a lot of work to build and manage a cutting-edge Twitter Chat driven community.
Robert enlisted the help of Johan Lammers and his team at weknowmore.org. Knowing that there are many different perspectives and that there are some great KMers out there, the pair sought to add 5 more advisors to the project: Luis, Stan, Mary, Douglas, and John. Through the work of that team and Eric from KMI (for marketing) this website was born.
Our goal is to help steer the community, but ultimately to put it in the hands of the KMers. Anyone can become a moderator, anyone can tweet on the hashtag (#KMers), and anyone can contribute to the site. Please use the feedback button on the left of the browser window and tell us what you think the future should look like.
